Huddersfield Town vs Blackburn Rovers match preview

Two sides in the midst of altogether contrasting spells of form are set to lock horns in a Championship clash at the John Smith’s Stadium this Monday, April 10th.

The matchup in question will see Huddersfield Town act as hosts, in a meeting with Blackburn Rovers.

Beginning with the former, Huddersfield have enjoyed a remarkable resurgence over the course of the last month.

After being dragged ever further into the relegation mire owing to just a solitary victory from 12 attempts, the Terriers have since turned things round in spectacular fashion.

First, a home meeting with promotion-chasing Norwich City saw Neil Warnock’s troops steady the ship, courtesy of a hard-fought 1-1 stalemate.

And since, Huddersfield have rattled off a trio of successive victories.

And, when all was said and done, Warnock and co, once more, bagged all three points, courtesy of goals on the part of all of Jack Rudoni, Matty Pearson and Kian Harratt.

The Yorkshire outfit, in turn, have soared out of the bottom three, to 20th in the Championship table.

And Monday’s John Smith’s Stadium hosts will likely be confident in their chances of making it a quartet of back-to-back wins on Monday.

This comes with upcoming opponents Blackburn having endured an altogether less fruitful time of things of late.

Jon Dahl Tomasson’s men, of course, remain in the thick of the battle for a promotion playoff spot.

The last couple of weeks, though, have seen their hopes of ultimately sealing a top-six berth dealt a series of blows.

Since a run of five victories on the bounce leading into March, Rovers have emerged on the right side of the result in just one of their ensuing five.

Not only that, but, last time out, they were put to the sword by a direct promotion rival, in the form of Norwich City.

Another loss later this evening, in turn, could see Blackburn ousted from the top-six altogether.

And we at 101 view as much as a real possibility, amid Huddersfield’s ongoing resurgence.
