Coventry City vs Huddersfield Town match preview

The final fixture of the gameweek in The Championship is set to play out at the Coventry Building Society Arena this Monday, September 25th.

The matchup in question will see Coventry City act as hosts, in a meeting with Huddersfield Town.

Beginning with the former, after missing out on promotion to the Premier League in heartbreaking fashion last time out, Coventry City have since failed to recover in any way, shape or form.

Across seven outings in all competitions thus far this term, the Sky Blues have managed just a solitary win, over Middlesbrough early last month.

Since, Mark Robins’ troops have stuttered to a quartet of draws, alongside one defeat.

The loss in question came last time out, too, when Matt Godden’s brace proved to be in vain, en route to an eventual 3-2 downing at Cardiff City.

Such woes have seen Coventry tumble to a lowly 19th in the table, just two points clear of the bottom three.

And hopeful of their chances of adding ever further to such concerns on Monday night will be a Huddersfield Town outfit brimming with confidence at present.

The headline talking point at Huddersfield over the course of the last week has been a surprise early-season change on the bench.

This comes with Neil Warnock having now officially made way, for the incoming Darren Moore.

The change in the dugout at the John Smith’s Stadium, though, bizarrely comes amid the Terriers’ finest stretch of form of the term to date.

After being condemned to four defeats from five to open the season, Huddersfield, since, have racked up seven points from an available nine.

Fresh off putting both West Bromwich Albion and Rotherham United to the sword, the Yorkshire outfit, most recently, battled back from a goal down to clinch a share of the spoils at home to Stoke City.

Such efforts have seen them surge clear of the drop zone, in the knowledge that a debut win under the watch of Darren Moore could culminate in a top-half berth come the day’s end.

We at 101, though, do not envision quite as much, instead backing Coventry and Huddersfield to play out into an eventual draw.
