A title challenger meets with a relegation fighter this weekend in the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich set to welcome Bochum to the Allianz Arena with the league leaders in desperate need to return to a consistent run of form.
Just prior to the World Cup break, Bayern were far from their usual self in the Bundesliga because of the absence of Robert Lewandowski. Eric Maxim Choupo Moting has been in excellent form, however, but his efforts have not been enough to keep the champions comfortable.
Ahead of this one, Bayern are just a point ahead of Union Berlin in second ahead of this weekend and they sit only three above Borussia Dortmund in second. As well as this, the league leaders have won one game less than those two with just 11 victories in 19 games.
Bayern did get back in the Bundesliga win column last time out, as they defeated Wolfsburg 4-2 away from home. Prior to this, Julian Nagelsmann’s men eased past Mainz in the DFB-Pokal as well.
As for Bochum, they have lost to Mainz 5-2 and then returned immediately to winning ways with a 5-2 win over Hoffenheim shortly after.
