Raphael Varane became France’s youngest ever captain in Armenia win

No international team is as obsessed with the captaincy as England, but this is still a pretty impressive achievement from Raphael Varane.

The Real Madrid central defender became France’s youngest ever captain during the 3-0 victory in Armenia on Tuesday.

At just 21-years-old, Varane took the captains armband when Blaise Matuidi was taken off at half-time.

After just 15 caps, this is an incredible honour for Varane.

Manchester United fans will be kicking themselves that Varane admitted how he rejected the chance to sign for the Premier League side, joining Real Madrid instead.
