Erik Lamela will not be leaving Tottenham this winter, says his brother Brian [Tweets]

Once again Brian Lamela, the brother of Tottenham attacking midfielder Erik, has stepped into the mix to publicly discuss the future of his sibling at White Hart Lane.

Lamela is Tottenham’s biggest ever club signing costing £25.8 million, plus up to £4.2 million in bonus payments, however the 21-year-old Argentine has yet to come good for the Lillywhites.

Press reports are now abound claiming that Spurs are ready to ship Lamela out on loan during the winter window, however those reports have been rubbished by the player’s brother.

Looking to get to the bottom of Lamela’s future, Tottenham and Lazio fans contacted the player’s brother Brian over Tuesday night asking whether the loan talk discussion was true. Repeatedly Brian Lamela denied the rumours.

There does seem to be some in-fighting in the Lamela family however as the player’s dad, Jose Lamela, has told the Italian media:

Erik is not happy and wants to go back to Italy. He has been linked with Lazio, but I don’t know anything about this. Could he re-join Roma? I don’t know. Tottenham does not want him to leave in January.

Erik Lamela has played 12 games for club and country this season, scoring once and claiming four assists.
