A bad week for German football has got a little bit worse.
18-year-old Schalke striker Donis Avdijaj is known to be one of the hottest new stars coming through the ranks in the Bundesliga.
Avdijaj’s record at youth level is simply phenomenal, with the attacker bagging 79 goals in 87 appearances.
With some of the biggest clubs in Europe scouting his services, Schalke has secured the immediate future of Avdijaj by locking a €50m exit clause into the teenager’s contract.
Now news has broken on Tuesday that the hugely talented forward, who has played for the German U19 side, has opted to play for Albania, rather than Germany, as his senior international side.
