Official: Former Arsenal star Jack Wilshere returns to football

Former Arsenal star and England international Jack Wilshere has, on Sunday evening, seen his return to football confirmed.

Midfielder Wilshere, once viewed as one of Europe’s finest up-and-coming talents in the middle of the park, has of course spent the last nine months watching on from the sidelines.

This comes with the 30-year-old, on the back of spells with the likes of West Ham and Bournemouth, having ultimately been released by the latter upon the conclusion of the 2020/21 campaign.

Wilshere, in turn, had since spent his time away from the pitch earning his coaching stripes back in north London with Arsenal, as part of Mikel Arteta’s backroom staff.

But, as alluded to above, on Sunday evening, the 34-time capped international has found himself a new club.

The Stevenage native has committed to terms with AGF through the remainder of the campaign, with the option to extend his stay in the summer:

Wilshere himself, meanwhile, has since too responded to the announcement, taking to his Twitter account to post a simple message of excitement, ahead of getting the latest chapter of his career underway:
