Southampton vs Leeds United match preview
Two sides in the midst of altogether contrasting spells of form are set to lock horns in a Championship clash at St. Mary’s Stadium this Saturday, September 30th.
The matchup in question will see Southampton act as hosts, in a meeting with Leeds United.
Beginning with the former, as fans of the club will be all too aware, Southampton have endured nothing short of a nightmare stretch of results over recent weeks.
After kicking their return to the 2nd tier of English football into gear in solid fashion, the Saints have since, alarmingly, been condemned to no fewer than four defeats on the trot.
This run features just two goals scored, and a hefty 12 conceded.
Most recently, last weekend, Russell Martin’s troops made the trip to winless Middlesbrough, desperate for a bounce-back result.
Such woes have seen the Saints slip to a lowly 15th in the table, just five points clear of the bottom three.

Safe to say, then, that upcoming opponents Leeds United will likely fancy their chances of adding ever further to the crisis situation quickly unfolding at St. Mary’s.
Leeds, for their part, have enjoyed an altogether more fruitful time of things of late.
After enduring a somewhat hit-and-miss opening to the term, the Whites have since turned things around in impressive fashion, to the tune of a six-game unbeaten streak.
This run includes a trio of wins, over all of Ipswich Town, Millwall, and, most recently, Watford.
After welcoming the Hornets to Elland Road, Daniel Farke’s side had 2nd-half goals on the part of all of Joel Piroe, Sam Byram, and Jaidon Anthony to thank for an eventual 3-0 triumph.
Leeds, as a result, have climbed to joint-5th, in the thick of the promotion playoff picture.
And we at 101 do not envision the Peacocks’ surge coming to an end on Saturday, backing Farke and co. to make it two wins on the spin at the expense of a faltering Southampton outfit.
