Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino ‘agrees deal’ to join Barcelona

A major update on the future of Liverpool star Roberto Firmino has come to the fore late on Friday evening.

Frontman Firmino’s situation, of course, has long taken its place front and centre in the headlines on the red half of Merseyside.

This comes with the Brazilian’s current terms due to come to a close come the summer.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, for his part, has not been shy in making clear his hope that Firmino will ultimately pen a new contract, to extend what has proven a fine eight-year stint at Anfield.

Now sitting behind the likes of Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota and Cody Gakpo in the Reds’ pecking order, though, Firmino is long understood to have been leaning towards a new adventure.

And, as alluded to above, late on Friday, a major update on the plans of the former Hoffenheim standout has surfaced online.

The club in question? La Liga heavyweights Barcelona.

An agreement is understood to be in place between the attacker and Blaugrana, which will see Firmino take his talents to the Camp Nou ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.
