Serbia is a young nation on the World Cup stage, having been part of the former Yugoslavia through various diplomatic periods in the country’s history before partaking in its first tournament in its current visage in 2010.

A former Yugoslavia captain who captained at two World Cups in his playing days, Stojkovic is a well-known and popular figure in the region. He has only been in charge of the Serbia national team for 18 months, but has already shown that he is up to the challenge with a 65% win rate – notching notable wins over Portugal, Norway and Sweden en route to the World Cup. He has a very talented squad of players to choose from and despite only overseeing 20 games to date, is the longest serving manager in terms of matches since Radomir Antic in 2008-2010.

With the form he is currently in, his partnership with Dušan Vlahović could be one of the most credible of any nation on display.
