Saudi Arabia betting tips, news and predictions

Heading to the sixth World Cup in their history, Saudi Arabia are looking to repeat their last 16 finish from 1994, having not made it out of the group since.

Having topped their World Cup qualifying group ahead of Japan, they head into the tournament losing just once in their 10-game stint. Their form was not as strong in the 2021 Arab Cup, however, failing to get out of a group consisting of Jordan, Palestine and Morocco.

With just two wins in seven games this calendar year, including losses to Colombia, Ecuador and Japan, the Middle-East side head into the tournament in poor form.

Drawn in a tricky group with Poland, Mexico and tournament heavyweights Argentina, the middle-eastern side will not be favoured to make it to the round of 16 this time around, but could yet spring a major surprise.

Key players

Salem Al Dawsari

Now 31-years-old, Al Hilal winger Salem Al Dawsari is set to be a key part of the Saudi setup this winter, with the veteran due to add to his 53 appearances for the national team.

The right-footed forward scored one of his nation’s two goals at the last World Cup, and has 14 to his name on the international stage. For any chance to make it out of the group stage, the former Villarreal man will have a massive role to play.

Salman Al-Faraj

Another veteran in the Saudi Arabia side, Al Faraj will be charged with running his nation’s engine room even at the age of 33.

The midfielder has been a central facet of his national setup, with 56 appearances to his name and occasionally captaining The Falcons, while he also did so at the Olympics.
