World Cup 2022

Cristiano Ronaldo included in 2022 World Cup worst XI

Cristiano Ronaldo has been joined by 10 more players in the 2022 World Cup worst XI.

Portugal lost to Morocco in the quarter-final of the World Cup in Qatar.

Portugal headed into the game as favourites after putting six past Switzerland the game prior. But when all was said and done, Morocco came away with a 1-0 win.

Cristiano Ronaldo started on the bench in Portugal’s last two World Cup games, coming on after 51 minutes vs Morocco.

Ronaldo scored just one goal in Qatar, which was a penalty he was accused of diving to get.

Now, with Argentina crowned as Champions, SofaScore have released their worst World Cup XI.

Ronaldo was joined up top in the XI by Argentina’s Lautaro Martinez.

Martinez started the tournament as Argentina’s main striker, but was dropped for Julian Alvarez after a poor showing in the shock 2-1 loss to Saudi Arabia.

He was then brought on in the final and missed a number of major changes for Argentina.

The lowest-rated player in the tournament was Mathew Leckie of Australia.

Other notable inclusions in the XI are Sergino Dest of the USA and AC Milan, as well as Chelsea and Senegal goalkeeper, Edouard Mendy.

Elsewhere, Lionel Messi made it into the best XI of the World Cup with the highest overall rating.
