Tottenham receive major boost following latest Cristian Romero injury update

Tottenham Hotspur had been fearing the worst following reports on Cristain Romero’s injury.

Last night, reports from England claimed that Cristian Romero was set for a number of weeks out with a muscle injury.

The Tottenham Hotspur defender clashed with Marc Cucurella early in Sunday’s London derby in which the Spaniard stood on him.

But the latest news coming from Argentina and the player’s entourage is a lot more positive.

However, there does seem to be some conflict between the club, who say three to four weeks, and Romero’s side, who claim 10 days.

“Romero NO muscle injury”

According to Argentine journalist Gastón Edul, Romero has not suffered a muscle injury.

The 24-year-old was dealt a slight knock following a collision with Cucurella.

Fortunately for Spurs, the defender looks set for just a short spell on the sidelines.

Gastón Edul told TyC Sport:

“Cristian Romero will be back to Tottenham training normally from next Friday or Saturday.

“He will return to training in exactly 10 days.

“The injury is only a knock, this is what Romero’s entourage have told me.”

Antonio Conte is due to hold a press conference ahead of Wolves today and he will provide a further update.
