Mikel Arteta makes Arsenal transfer claims fans will love

Mikel Arteta has been discussing the upcoming January transfer window.

The Premier League resumes next week with Arsenal sat five points clear atop of the table, though Manchester City do have a game in hand on the Gunners.

With a major battle facing Arsenal in the second half of the season, it is clear they need to spend in January.

Gabriel Jesus’ injury has left the north Londoners with Eddie Nketiah as their only striking option and he is yet to score in the league this season.

There is little cover for Bukayo Saka on the right-wing and if Thomas Partey or Granit Xhaka were to suffer a major injury, Arsenal have little depth to replace them.

So, Arsenal fans will be glad to hear Mikel Arteta state that his side will be active in the upcoming market:

“We are going to be active and active means we are looking to strengthen the team,” said Arteta. “This squad still doesn’t have the luxury of not maximising every single window. We have to do that because it’s really important.

“You know there are a lot of teams with new coaches and new owners that are going to probably get again this window into a position that is never seen or experienced before, but we know that and we have to be active on it.”
