‘Just awful’ Liverpool fans slam duo in first half nightmare against Napoli

The Reds were torn apart in Naples in a ferocious first half

Liverpool fans have taken to social media in their droves to slam two players during a nightmare first half in Naples, where they headed into the break 3-0 down against a rampant Napoli side.

The Reds were let off the hook early when Victor Osimhen hit the woodwork in the first minute, before a handball from James Milner handed the hosts a penalty, which they duly converted.

A well-worked goal from Franck Zambo Anguissa after a poor defensive effort from Joe Gomez doubled the Italian sides’ lead, before another mistake from the Englishman allowed Giovanni Simeone, on as a first half substitute, a tap in with virtually his first touch of the game.

It could have been far worse too, with Osimhen missing a penalty and Van Dijk producing a goal line clearance to prevent the scoreline getting more damaging for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

With a comeback looking unlikely, it could be a case of damage preservation from Jurgen Klopp’s side.

And, taking to social media, it was Milner and Gomez that took the brunt of the frustrations from Liverpool fans, as can be seen below.
