Cristiano Ronaldo leaves Old Trafford before final whistle following Manchester United return

Cristiano Ronaldo is understood to have left Old Trafford before the final whistle of Manchester United’s final pre-season tour match.

Manchester United capped off their 2022 pre-season by taking on Spanish side, Rayo Vallecano.

Manchester United had faced fellow La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid on Saturday, so it was not surprising to see Erik ten Hag make a plethora of changes for his side’s tie on Sunday.

Christian Eriksen, who made his debut on Saturday from the bench, was handed his first starting berth alongside fellow new signing, Lisandro Martinez.

Elsewhere, Manchester United fans saw Cristiano Ronaldo in a United shirt for the first time this summer as the Portuguese was in from the off vs Vallecano.

Ronaldo has made his desire to leave Old Trafford this summer very, very clear – missing the entirety of Man United’s pre-season tour and being offered to a number of top clubs, including Chelsea, Bayern Munich and PSG.

However, no club is currently keen on Ronaldo, leaving the 37-year-old, who is desperate to play Champions League football this season to prevent Lionel Messi from breaking his record, with no choice but to come back to Manchester and get some minutes in his legs through the club he wants to leave.

Ronaldo was subbed off after 45 minutes on Sunday, being replaced by Amad Diallo. The Manchester United striker was then, as shown below, pictured leaving the ground before the full-time whistle had even gone – not exactly something a player eager to stay at a club would do.
