St Mirren vs Aberdeen match preview

After an impressive European result in Göteborg on Thursday night, Aberdeen travel to Paisley full of confidence.

In mid-week, the Dons took on Allsvenskan champions BK Häcken in the Europa League play-off round.

When the Reds found themselves 2-0 down in Sweden, it looked as though they’d have to settle for Europa Conference League football.

But, they pulled off a remarkable comeback, with Bojan Miovski first lashing home a goal back before, four minutes later, the Macedonian striker played in Nicky Devlin who bundled home an equaliser.

2-2 it finished, meaning it’ll be winner takes all at Pittodrie next Thursday, as both aim to get into the Europa League.

Before then, Barry Robson’s side will be looking to pick up their first Premiership points of the season, having drawn with Livingston and been beaten by Celtic so far.

That’s because St Mirren currently have maximum points on the board, having beaten Hibs 3-2 and then Dundee 2-1 so far, with Mikael Mandron the match-winner in the latter.

Then, last weekend, the Buddies reached the League Cup quarter-finals, defeating Motherwell 1-0, with Caolan Boyd-Munce the only scorer.

So, up against a jaded Aberdeen team, St Mirren have to be favourites to pick up three points.
