It’s arguably the biggest game of the season down at the bottom end of Serie A as Spezia welcomes Hellas Verona to the Stadio Alberto Picco as just three points keep the two apart in the Italian top flight with the home side narrowly out of the relegation zone.
Spezia are currently three points clear of Verona in 17th place ahead of this one and the only way they can be pulled into the drop zone is if Verona win by three or more goals – this is unlikely given their record of 20 goals scored from 24 games.
At the same time, Verona actually lost 3-0 last time out with Fiorentina defeating them at the Marcantonio Bentegodi Stadium to make it 15 losses in the division and 37 goals conceded – even Cremonese at the bottom have not lost more games than this.
As for Spezia, they picked up another point on the road last time out to make it two draws on the spin away from home.
The 17th-placed side have not won a game since defeating Torino 1-0, but at the very least, they are remaining outside of the bottom three each week right now. A loss here, however, could change everything.
