It’s a huge game between Sampdoria and Hellas Verona down in the bottom three in Genoa this weekend with the two sides slumped into the relegation zone for yet another week before this crucial battle.

Hopes of survival for either team is weakening as the games go on in Serie A, and it seems as if both clubs have been in the relegation zone forever. In fact, Sampdoria have not been out of the bottom three since September.

The Genoa side are now bottom of the table and behind Spezia in 17th by 12 points with only 12 games left to play.

By that ratio, they must average out a point per game, but given how they have won only two games all year long, this seems impossible.

As for Verona, they come into this one with five points left on the board to make up on Spezia, so at the very least, they still have some hopes of getting out of trouble. They’ve also won two more games than Sampdoria.
