Lazio are desperate for a win in this game against Salernitana with the club dropping from third into sixth in recent weeks while also getting knocked out of the Coppa Italia as Maurizio Sarri’s men look for their 12th Serie A win of the campaign.
Sarri’s side narrowly defeated Cluj 1-0 in the Europa Conference League in midweek, as they looked to establish themselves as one of the favourites to win that competition.
Prior to this, however, Lazio failed to win their four games after smashing AC Milan 4-0 in Rome. A 1-1 draw with Fiorentina was met with a 1-1 draw away to Hellas Verona, as Juventus also knocked them out of the cup.
A loss to Atalanta now throws Lazio down into sixth before this game, as the club are now behind Roma in fifth by two points and adrift of Inter Milan in second by five.
As for Salernitana, they continued to plummet down the table with just one win in the past seven games since the World Cup. This saw them edge past Lecce back in late January by a 2-1 scoreline.
