Monza vs Fiorentina preview

Fiorentina are looking to move deeper into the top half of the table this weekend when they meet with Monza at the Brianteo Stadium off the back of another excellent result against Inter Milan in Serie A.

Fiorentina escaped embarrassment in midweek against Lech Poznan after the Florence outfit was beaten 3-2 at home in the Europa Conference League.

At one stage, this brought the game to 4-4 on aggregate, but a goal each from Riccardo Sottil and Gaetano Castrovilli finished the game 3-2 and ended the two-legged affair 6-4 to Fiorentina.

The club also drew with Atalanta in between these two fixtures after also drawing with Spezia and beating Inter Milan 1-0 at the San Siro this month.

As for Monza, they also inflicted a defeat on Inter at the San Siro last weekend, as Luca Caldirola scored a goal in the last 12 minutes of the game to move them into 13th in the table.

Monza are now above the relegation zone by 15 points and they are practically mathematically secure this season from the drop with just 24 points left to play for.
