Match preview

Having picked up the League Cup last Sunday, will Celtic remain on track for a fifth treble in seven seasons?

Last weekend, Kyōgo Furuhashi’s brace saw the Hoops beaten Rangers 2-1 at Hampden, thereby retaining the League Cup.

Meanwhile, Ange Postecoglou’s side are well-placed to retain their Premiership title, starting the weekend nine points clear of Rangers.

The Celts have taken 55 points from their last 19 league matches, only failing to defeat Rangers at Ibrox in this period.

So, will the Celtic machine continue to pick up wins?

Only one Scottish club have beaten Celtic this season and that is St Mirren, claiming a 2-0 victory in September, with Mark O’Hara and Jonah Ayunga both scoring.

The Buddies drew 1-1 with St Johnstone last weekend, thanks to Alex Gogić’s late header at McDiarmid Park.

Thus, Stephen Robinson’s team have lost just two of their last six, leaving them fifth, very much in the hunt for European qualification.

Here though, will Celtic avenge any lingering St Mirren Park demons?
