Match preview

Rangers’ season began at the Tony Macaroni Arena back on 30 July, but a lot has changed since then.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst guided the Light Blues back into the Champions League group stages, but that didn’t go to plan, and the Dutchman was sacked in late-November.

Now under Mick Beale, the Gers return to Almondvale, knowing they simply must continue winning.

Under Beale, Rangers have won nine of ten Premiership matches, only drawing with Celtic, but remain nine points adrift their great rivals at the top.

Meantime, last Sunday, the holders reached the Scottish Cup quarter-finals, ousted Partick Thistle in a very controversial game at Ibrox.

Malik Tillman defied etiquette to put his team 2-1 up, with Beale then instructing his team to give Thistle a goal in return.

Back in the league, will Rangers’ winning run continue?

Livingston meanwhile are fourth, well on course to qualify for Europe for the first time since 2002.

Davie Martindale’s men have lost just one of seven league games since Christmas Day, but were dumped out the cup by Inverness Caley Thistle last time out.

Livi actually drww 1-1 at Ibrox in November, but have won just one of their last 17 meetings with Rangers; Dolly Menga, remember him?

So, an away win seems likely at the Spaghettihad.
