Kilmarnock vs Livingston match preview
Can Kilmarnock claim a priceless victory in their battle against the drop?
Last weekend, Killie’s miserable form on the road continued, this time beaten 2-0 by Motherwell at Fir Park.
In the game before that, Derek McInnes’ men had finally won away for the first time all season, beating St Mirren in Paisley.
Nevertheless, having claimed victory in just four of 18 fixtures since the World Cup, Kilmarnock remain in the relegation play-off place, a point above Ross County and below Dundee United on goal difference.
Three of Killie’s last four fixtures, including this one, are at home, hoping to be fantastic on the plastic as they seek to avoid an immediate return to the Championship.
As for Livingston, a sixth successive season in the top division has already been secured, which’ll be the club’s longest-ever period as a Premiership club.
Davie Martindale’s men were beaten 2-0 by Ross County a week ago, so have now lost four of their last five, tasing defeat in all six away matches since the start of February.
Despite this, Livi do remain top of the bottom half, two points clear of Motherwell, who they’ll face at Almondvale in 11 days time.
So far this season, Livingston have won all three meetings with Kilmarnock: 1-0, 3-2 and 3-1.
Will Livi complete the whitewash, or can Killie make home advantage count in this key game for them at Rugby Park?
