Dundee vs Heart of Midlothian match preview

With their European hopes currently hanging by a thread, will Heart of Midlothian take out their frustrations on Dundee?

On Thursday night, Hearts welcomed PAOK to Tynecastle for the first leg of their Europa Conference League play-off.

They made the perfect start, Lawrence Shankland converting a ninth minute penalty, but, immediately from kick off, the Greeks were awarded a spot-kick off their own, and they duly converted.

In the second half, Shankland thought he’d restored the Jambos’ advantage, but his goal was ruled out by VAR, before Živković thwacked home a long-range winner for the visitors.

2-1 it finished in Gorgie, meaning Hearts must go to Toumba Stadium in Thessaloniki and win next Thursday, or their European adventure will be over for another season.

Domestically, Steven Naismith’s side remain unbeaten, having defeated St Johnstone on the opening weekend, before a frustrating goalless draw with Kilmarnock.

As for Dundee, this’ll be their first match for 15 days, during which time Hearts have been in action on no fewer than four occasions.

The Dark Blues have just one point to their name so far, holding Motherwell to a stalemate, before a 2-1 defeat at St Mirren Park.

So, will the Dee’s fresh legs help them to victory at Dens Park?
