Manchester United vs Wolves: Premier League preview
Manchester United host Wolves at Old Trafford on Tuesday for their final match of 2020.
The Red Devils dropped two points in their Boxing Day clash against Leicester on Saturday. United twice gave up a one-goal lead, ultimately drawing 2-2 at the King Power.
Marcus Rashford made up for a terrible miss by opening the scoring, but Leicester were back on level terms shortly after. Bruno Fernandes put United back in front but the visitors failed to hold on to all three points.
The draw leaves United 4th in the table on 27 points – five behind leaders Liverpool with a game in hand. Manchester United are unbeaten in eight league matches.
Wolves picked up a late point against Tottenham on Sunday thanks to Romain Saiss’ late headed equaliser. Wolves have one win in five and are 11th in the table on 21 points.

Problems at home for Man United, Wolves poor on the road
Unlike their incredible away form, United’s home form this season has been poor. With two wins, two draws, and three defeats at Old Trafford, United’s home record ranks 14th in the league.
Wolves’ away record is similarly poor, also ranking 14th. Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have won three and lost four of their seven matches on the road – scoring six and conceding 14 in those games.
Wolves and Manchester United have faced each other 12 times in the Premier League. The Red Devils have won half of those matches, drawing three and losing three.
More recently, Wolves have enjoyed greater success against United. Wolves have only lost one of their last seven matches against Manchester United, and none of their last four in the league.
Last season’s corresponding fixture ended in a goalless draw in February.
Manchester United team news vs Wolves
Victor Lindelof – who played as a right-back at Leicester – picked up a back injury and is expected to miss out. Axel Tuanzebe is fit again and should replace Lindelof in the starting eleven.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka could return to the United’s matchday squad. The right-back was pictured in training on Monday after missing the last two matches with an unspecified injury.
Following another impactful substitute appearance, Edinson Cavani could be rewarded with a start against Wolves. Paul Pogba, Mason Greenwood, Alex Telles, Donny van de Beek, and Nemanja Matic are all in contention to be recalled if Solskjaer opts for some rotation.
Daniel James is a doubt after picking up a knock against Leicester, although Marcus Rashford is expected to overcome a minor shoulder injury he picked up on Boxing Day.
Marcos Rojo and Phil Jones remain sidelined.

Wolves team news vs Manchester United
Leander Dendoncker is set to miss out again after picking up an injury against Chelsea. Owen Otasowie could be recalled to midfield at the expense of Joao Moutinho.
Willy Boly is also expected to miss out, so Romain Saiss should continue alongside Conor Coady in defence.
Rayan Ait Nouri could replace Marcal at left-back but Adama Traore and Fabio Silva will be hoping to keep their places in the starting eleven.
Raul Jimenez remains sidelined following a serious head injury. “We don’t have a timetable. We have to follow the protocols but it is about getting him healthy again. We have time”, Espirito Santo said.
Jonny Otto is also another long-term absentee.
