Match preview

Will Fulham’s excellent season continue?

Last Friday night, the Cottagers held West London rivals Chelsea to a credible goalless draw at Stamford Bridge.

This means Marco Silva’s team have failed to score or win three successive Premier League games, despite having won four on the spin beforehand.

Since then, Fulham have booked their place in the FA Cup fifth round, beating Sunderland 3-2 at the Stadium of Light on Wednesday.

Harry Wilson, Andreas Pereira and Layvin Kurzawa all on target, setting up a clash with Leeds on 28 February.

Back in the Premier League, Fulham start the weekend eighth, so will they claim another win here?

Brennan Johnson’s wonderful strike downing Leeds at the City Ground, their fifth 1-0 win of the season.

Steve Cooper’s team have now taken 11 points from the last 15 available, only losing to Arsenal and Man United, both away, since 15 October.

However, the Reds have still only won once on the road in the league this season, this coming at bottom of the table Southampton last month.

Forest have actually won their last two visits to Craven Cottage, but, this time, Fulham are likely to make home advantage count.

Fulham team news

Marco Silva heavily rotated for Wednesday’s trip to Wearside, but all the regulars will be back in for this one.

João Palhinha picked up his eighth yellow card of the season at Stamford Bridge, so is leading the league for bookings.

He and midfield partner Harrison Reed both scored in the reverse fixture when Fulham came from behind to win at the City Ground.

Aleksandar Mitrović will return up front; he’s netted four times in his last six appearances against Forest.

Deadline day arrivals Cédric and Saša Lukić are still awaiting their debuts.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Leno; Tete, Diop, Ream, Robinson; Palhinha, Reed, Pereira, Decordova-Reid, Willian; Mitrović.

Nottingham Forest team news

Goalkeeper Keylor Navas kept a clean sheet on his Premier League debut last weekend, and will be between the sticks once again.

Fellow new-recruit Danilo has usurped Ryan Yates in the midfield pecking order, so will continue alongside Remo Freuler and Orel Mangala.

With Taiwo Awoniyi injured, Chris Wood is set to continue to lead the line, while top-scorer Brennan Johnson, who’s got seven to his name this season, will remain the primary threat.

André Ayew, Felipe and Jonjo Shelvey will be hoping to make their Forest debuts.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Navas; Williams, Boly, McKenna, Lodi; Mangala, Danilo, Freuler; Gibbs-White, Johnson, Wood.
