Nemanja Matic sends message to Manchester United teammates ahead of Tottenham

Nemanja Matic has sent a message to his Manchester United teammate ahead of their clash with Tottenham.

United face off with Spurs in Saturday’s late Premier League kick-off. The game is a huge one for both sides in their respective pursuits of the top-four.

Ahead of it, Matic has stated that every game is like a final for Manchester United until the end of the campaign: “For us, every game is a final until the end of the season.”

“We have to win almost every game to secure the Champions League place so I’m sure we’ll be mentally ready and physically, I’m sure we’ll do everything to win (on Saturday).”

Will Manchester United finish in the top-four?

At the time of writing, Manchester United do not occupy that 4th Champions League place.

The Red Devils are instead 5th in the division, one point adrift of 4th place Arsenal.

A one-point gap may not seem like a lot, but it is worth noting that Arsenal have three games in hand on Manchester United right now. And whilst they are unlikely to win all three, it is safe to assume that the one-point gap will widen by at least another three points in the near future.

West Ham are also still in the race for the top-four and sit just two points behind Manchester United with the same number of games played.

Ralf Rangnick’s side are likewise expected to face pressure from Tottenham, who are 7th in the PL now, but would overtake United if they win one of their two games in hand.
