Zinchenko makes Bukayo Saka claim after England’s win over Ukraine

Oleksandr Zinchenko has been discussing Arsenal teammate, Bukayo Saka.

The duo faced off for their respective countries in a Euro 2024 qualifier on Sunday evening.

England headed into the game on the back of a 2-1 win over Italy earlier in the week, whilst Ukraine’s first outing came against the Three Lions.

A tight first half played out with the teams looking set to go in at the break with the deadlock yet to be broken.

However, Bukayo Saka set up Harry Kane 37 minutes in to make it 1-0. The winger then scored a goal of his own three minutes later to put England 2-0 up and secure the three points.

The man tasked with keeping Saka quiet on Sunday was his Arsenal teammate, Zinchenko. However, as Saka was crucial to both England goals, it is fair to say that did not happen.

When asked about Saka after the match, the Arsenal left-back stated:

“There are no friends on the pitch. Unfortunately he beat me today.”

And when asked whether Saka is the best player in the Premier League on current form, Zinchenko said: “Definitely he is one of them, that’s for sure.

“I hope we will be on this form until the end of the season because he’s such an important player for us. Everyone knows this.”
