Kike Perez scored a stunning winner to help Venezia move off the bottom of Serie A as they leapfrogged Udinese with a 2-1 home victory.

Udinese have been mainstays in Serie A since their promotion back to the top flight in 1995. However, they appear to be in significant danger of relegation this season.

Indeed, I Friulani are now rock bottom of the table following their latest defeat, which marked their eighth of the season.

Venezia took the lead eight minutes into the second half when Toma Basic slotted home, only for Matias Moreno’s own goal to level matters.

However, Perez sealed the points for Venezia in style, his effort from a little over 20 yards bending beautifully into the top-right corner.

In the Bundesliga, Borussia Monchengladbach remain at the foot of the table after a 3-1 defeat at Hamburg.

Miro Muheim’s long-range effort put Hamburg in front, but Gladbach were given hope of a rare positive result just before half-time when Joe Scally’s strike deflected in off team-mate Robin Hack.

Yet Ko Itakura’s second yellow card four minutes into the second half reduced Gladbach to 10 men, and Hamburg took advantage with goals from Shafiq Nandja and Albert Gronbaek.

Elsewhere, Sevilla and Alaves drew 0-0 in LaLiga, while Toulouse beat Strasbourg 3-1 in Ligue 1.
