TipMan Tips Bet Builder of the Day: Tuesday’s World Cup Acca

Wales v England

England to win

England take on Wales in a game that will see England either top the group or qualify in 2nd behind USA or Iran. Wales fell to a late 2-0 defeat to Iran that left them bottom group B needing a win and other results to go their way to have any chance of qualifying. England will likely make changes after their less-than-impressive goalless draw to USA. Phil Foden and Jack Grealish could come into the side, with many also calling for Harry Kane to be rested. England need to win the group to guarantee a top place finish and we expect them to do so against Wales team that look guaranteed to be exiting the World Cup here.

Iran v USA

Iran or draw

Netherlands v Qatar

Over 2.5 Match Goals

Netherlands will consider themselves lucky to be top of Group A here with 4 points from 2 very lacklustre performances. Qatar however will be no match for Netherlands. We expect Netherlands to line up strong here as the group is still wide open and attempt to get the job done early so they can rest players. There is plenty of quality in that Netherlands team and we expect them to be at least 2 to the good by halftime. There was very little value with the Netherlands win or over 1.5 team goals, so we went with over 2.5 match goals here and expect the Netherlands thrashing to dust off the cobwebs from the first 2 games.

Ecuador v Senegal

Ecuador or draw

Ecuador were very unlucky to not take all 3 points from Group favourites Netherlands. They went 1-0 down early to a Gakpo masterclass but from there on in, which was Netherlands only shot on target in the entire game. Ecuador had plenty of shots at goal and equalised through Enner Valencia’s 3rd goal of the competition. Ecuador are solid at the back conceding just once in their previous 8 games. Senegal beat Qatar 3-1 despite a flurry of late chances for the home nation, and were unlucky to lose to Netherlands 2-0 in their opener. A point here will be enough though for Ecuador to seal qualification, and with their defensive record and physicality, we expect them to grind out at least a point here.

Key talking points

As we reach the end of the group stages, it is all still to play for, with seven teams across the first two groups still able to reach the last 16. All eyes will be on favourites England and Netherlands, both of whom need results against the side bottom in their group to ensure progression.

They will be hoping for convincing wins to get their tournaments back on track, while England will be looking for goals from Harry Kane, who is yet to get off the mark in Qatar.

Meanwhile, the real tension may come elsewhere, with Ecuador needing just a point against African Champions Senegal, while the USA face Iran in a game laced with political as well as sporting tension. The winner of that game will guarantee qualification for the last 16, which for Iran would be the first time in their history. One to watch.
