Wolves team news & predicted line-up vs Everton

Julen Lopetegui takes his position in the technical area for the first time in the Premier League as Wolves clash with Everton at Goodison Park in a relegation six-pointer

Julen Lopetegui’s new Wolves regime got on to the right foot to begin the restart of club football after the Spanish manager won in his competitive debut against Gillingham to help the club reach the quarterfinals of the Carabao Cup for the first time since 1995-96.

Wolves will now hope to find three points in his Premier League debut as the bottom club in the top flight of English football are set for a relegation six-pointer against Frank Lampard’s Everton at Goodison Park, but the recent news that the Molineux outfit will welcome Brazilian forward Matheus Cunha from Atlético Madrid when the January transfer window opens is a potential sign of things to come for a club now under a manager whose track record in Spain and Portugal speaks for itself.

Predicted Wolves line-up

Wolves team news

  • Saša Kalajdžić, Pedro Neto, and Chiquinho (out)
  • Boubacar Traoré, and Jonny (doubt)
  • Diego Costa (red card)

Lopetegui confirmed that both Boubacar Traoré and Jonny had participated in training recently, with the Wolves manager and his staff remaining optimistic that both could return for the Boxing Day clash in some capacity.

The experienced Spanish boss will still be unable to call upon a trio of key options as Saša Kalajdžić, Pedro Neto, and Chiquinho all remain out of contention and without a clear timetable to return.

With just eight goals in the league thus far, Lopetegui must focus on hitting the ground running in the final third come their away day on Merseyside if the midlands club is to avoid relegation.
