Wilfried Zaha addresses the rumour about David Moyes’s daughter from his time at Manchester United

Why Crystal Palace are unlikely sell Wilfried Zaha

For several seasons Wilfried Zaha has seemed keen on leaving Crystal Palace in the off-season.

Zaha is the club’s best player, however he’s never played Champions League football.

Last summer, Zaha tried to force an exit from Selhurst Park by handing in a transfer request. However, the Eagles managed to retain the forward.

Athletic reporter Dom Fifield has looked into the future to analyse the likelihood that Zaha leaves Palace this summer.

Speaking on The Ornstein & Chapman Podcast, Dom Fifield has outlined his reasons why Zaha is likely to remain with the Eagles next season:

(Nothing has) really changed to Palace’s outlook towards Zaha. To them, he remains the principal asset in the setup.

He’s still got three more years of contract – it goes until 2023.

To them, he’s worth what staying in the division is worth – 80 to 100 million pounds.

No club is really going to be offering 80 million pound up front – which is what Palace would be demanding.

Wilfried Zaha addresses Man United, David Moyes daughter rumour

In the past few days, Wilfried Zaha has made his first public comment on a long-standing rumour from his time at Man United.

Zaha was Sir Alex Ferguson’s final signing before he left Old Trafford. However, the Ivory Coast international never managed to convince David Moyes to play him during his spell in the Man United dugout.

For years, rumours have swirled that Moyes took exception to Zaha over an alleged relationship with his daughter.

However, in a recent interview with Rio Ferdinand, Zaha has finally set the record straight over the Moyes, daughter rumour:

No one at the club at all told me anything, I didn’t know what to do whatsoever.

I remember tweeting something about it saying ‘silly rumours’ because it was getting too much, so I had to say something myself and then I remember the club media messaging me saying ‘you shouldn’t have done that, you shouldn’t have done this’ and I’m thinking ‘you haven’t helped me.’

I’m here by myself, struggling because people are telling me I’ve slept with the manager’s daughter and that’s why you’re not playing me.

The funny thing is, it’s carried on for so long I felt like, is the manager not going to come and have a word with me over this?

That’s how I felt and I’m thinking this is ridiculous man. Up to this day, I still get people that think that’s true and I’ve never even met his daughter.
