An explanation for the respective absences of a pair of defenders from Manchester United’s matchday squad to face Leicester City has been provided on Thursday night.
Erik ten Hag’s troops, of course, are primed to return to action in short order.
On the back of a timely return to form over the course of the last couple of weeks, the Red Devils have made the trip to the King Power Stadium, eyeing a third successive Premier League victory.
As is customary, in turn, the club’s matchday squad was unveiled a short time ago.
As expected, the likes of Jadon Sancho, Tyrell Malacia and Raphael Varane have continued in their starting berths, with star man Cristiano Ronaldo, on the other hand, forced to make do with a spot on the bench once more:

Two players nowhere to be seen amongst the Red Devils’ ranks on Thursday, though, come in the form of Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Speaking to the media ahead of kick-off, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of his missing full-backs was put to Erik ten Hag.
And the United boss went on to reveal that both Shaw and Wan-Bissaka are dealing with ‘small’ injury ‘complaints’.
