Thiago Silva may be 38-years-old and far from a Chelsea veteran, but that has not stopped the Blues faithful from taking a strong liking to the Brazilian since his arrival from Paris Saint Germain on a free transfer, and his latest antics will only serve to enhance that adulation.
Currently out injured and expected to be absent until April, Silva was nonetheless in the stands supporting his side as they came from a goal down to edge into the last 8 of the Champions League with a 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund at Stamford Bridge.
And he took issue particularly with a tackle by English teenager Jude Bellingham late in the piece, who flew in on his compatriot Reece James, who has been recovering from a knee injury in recent months.
Having already been booked, there were calls for Bellingham to be sent off, while plenty were concerned about the England right-back given his recent issues.
And Silva, as shown through footage provided by his wife Bella, was no different, demanding a red card for the teenager.
“Son of a bi*ch, not my full back for the love of God, Red card!”, the Brazilian defender is videoed as shouting in the immediate aftermath of the challenge.
Chelsea’s win, courtesy of a penalty from Kai Havertz and a goal from Raheem Sterling, is their second in four days and follows a tricky period for the club.
It also sees them into the quarter finals of the Champions League, where a date with the likes of Sporting Lisbon, Manchester City, Real Madrid or AC Milan could await the 2021 competition winners.
