Watch: Neymar stretchered off injured for Paris Saint Germain in massive blow to Champions League dream

The Brazilian’s outing was cut short against Lille

Brazil and Paris Saint Germain star Neymar left the field in tears and on a stretcher during his side’s clash with Lille, leaving him a major doubt for the weeks to come.

The 31-year-old winger found the back of the net in the first half to put his side 2-0 up midway through the first half, having provided the assist for Kylian Mbappe’s opener in a strong performance from the Brazilian.

However, just minutes into the second half he was down injured in the centre circle, after falling on his right ankle during a PSG attack, and a stretcher was required as he went off crying to be replaced by young Frenchman Hugo Ekitike.

And an image from the replay captures the issue, with the Brazilian seemingly suffering from a sprain as he did at the World Cup, which affected the same ankle and forced him to miss two of the Selecao’s group games.

Though he returned for Tite’s side against South Korea, his latest setback has sparked fears that he may not be so lucky this time, and could be set for a longer spell on the sidelines.

It comes just two weeks before PSG head to the Allianz Arena to take on Bayern Munich in their last 16 Champions League second leg, which the Brazilian could now miss.
