Cristiano Ronaldo has taken his place front and centre in the headlines on Friday evening, amid Al-Nassr’s meeting with Al Fateh.
For those not aware, big-spending Al-Nassr marked their return to action a short time ago.
After kicking their Roshn Saudi League season into gear in concerning fashion, by way of back-to-back defeats at the hands of Al-Ettifaq and Al-Taawoun, Luis Castro’s troops made the trip to Al-Hasa, for a meeting with Al Fateh.
And, safe to say, to this point in proceedings, the Arab Champions Cup holders have gotten their form firmly back on track.
Al-Nassr currently find themselves in possession of a three-goal advantage at the Prince Abdullah bin Jalawi Stadium.
And the aforementioned Ronaldo, for his part, has played a direct role in all three.
First, just shy of the half-hour mark, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner laid on the evening’s opener, courtesy of a gorgeous flicked assist for attacking partner in crime Sadio Mane:
Ronaldo then turned goalscorer a short time later, nodding home a trademark header from close range:
And it was not long before the former Manchester United man had his brace, slotting home another simple finish to kill off any remaining hopes of a comeback for hosts Al Fateh:
*Update* - Ronaldo has since gone on to clinch his hat-trick, rounding out a spectacular 5-0 victory for Al-Nassr.
