Gareth Southgateβs side drew a lot of criticism for their approach during the rather bleak 0-0 draw with USA on Friday, but England are on the verge of progressing through to the knockout stages of a major tournament for the third time in a row under the current manager.
After opening up their World Cup campaign with a 6-2 win over Iran, there were hopes that England had thrown off the shackles that had inhibited them for much of 2022, but there was a lack of intent and ambition in the performance that drew boos from supporters, and left the Three Lions with a job to do against Wales on Tuesday.
For Wales, they know they face the improbably task of defeating England by four clear goals if they want to progress, after crumbling to a 2-0 defeat to Iran that puts them bottom of Group B and facing an early departure home.
Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey have been criticised for their lack of influence in their advancing years, but both have magic in their boots and could inspire the Dragons to a famous win against the odds.

Wales vs England Betting Tip
Daily Acca by TipMan
Wales v England
England to win
Iran v USA
Iran or draw
We have taken a chance on Iran to take a point and seal qualification here behind England. They rightfully beat Wales 2-0 with 2 late goals and scored 2 goals against the formidable England defence. USA however are struggling to score goals despite some very nice build up play. Theyβve surprised many people here and took a point from England, which very few expected them to do so, but they have 1 goal in their 2 games so far. Iran however have 4 goals and carry in the confidence from the late Wales win. Iran are ranked 20th in the World, and we donβt think they gave a true reflection of themselves in the England game. We think they will get at least a point here and seal qualification.
Netherlands v Qatar
Over 2.5 Match Goals
Netherlands will consider themselves lucky to be top of Group A here with 4 points from 2 very lacklustre performances. Qatar however will be no match for Netherlands. We expect Netherlands to line up strong here as the group is still wide open and attempt to get the job done early so they can rest players. There is plenty of quality in that Netherlands team and we expect them to be at least 2 to the good by half time. There was very little value with Netherlands win or over 1.5 team goals, so we went with over 2.5 match goals here and expect a Netherlands thrashing to dust off the cobwebs from the first 2 games.
Ecuador v Senegal
Ecuador or draw
Ecuador were very unlucky to not take all 3 points from Group favourites Netherlands. They went 1-0 down early to a Gakpo masterclass but from there on in, which was Netherlands only shot on target in the entire game. Ecuador had plenty of shots at goal and equalised through Enner Valenciaβs 3rd goal of the competition. Ecuador are solid at the back conceding just once in their previous 8 games. Senegal beat Qatar 3-1 despite a flurry of late chances for the home nation, and were unlucky to lost to Netherlands 2-0 in their opener. A point here will be enough though for Ecuador to seal qualification, and with their defensive record and physicality, we expect them to grind out at least a point here.
