Trouble brewing at Man United as Jadon Sancho releases statement in response to Erik ten Hag

A disappointing day on the red half of the Manchester divide has, late this evening, continued to go from bad to worse.

This comes amid seemingly mounting tension between head coach Erik ten Hag, and headline attacker Jadon Sancho.

For those who may have missed it, wide-man Sancho was a surprise absentee from United’s latest matchday squad on Sunday.

Speaking on the back of his side’s heartbreaking last-gasp defeat at the hands of Arsenal, boss Ten Hag was therefore drawn on the whereabouts of the England international.

And the Dutch tactician was not at all shy in placing the blame for his omission solely at the feet of Sancho, accusing the former Borussia Dortmund talent of not performing at the required level in training this week:

“On his performance in training we didn’t select him. You have to reach the level every day at Manchester United. You can make choices in the front line, so in this game he wasn’t selected.”

In a no doubt concerning development for all associated with Manchester United, the club’s struggling winger has tonight taken to social media, to issue a fiery response to his manager.

Adamant that he will ‘not allow people saying things that are completely untrue’, Sancho issued a public statement, which can be read in full below:
