Premier League clubs West Ham United and Everton are both expressing a keen interest in the signature of a highly-regarded member of the attacking setup at Portuguese giants Porto, according to reports.
The player in question? Gonçalo Borges.
For those not familiar with his name, Borges is a 22-year-old winger, who has been on the books at Porto since all the way back in 2015.
He has since gone on to break into the first-team setup at the Estádio do Dragão, notching 20 appearances across all competitions last season.
And though the Portuguese youth international did not exactly fill up the stat sheet, his displays proved sufficient to catch the eye of a number of clubs across the continent.
Two such clubs come by way of the Premier League, in the form of West Ham United and Everton.
As per a report from transfer insider Fabrizio Romano:
‘West Ham and Everton are interested in Porto winger Gonçalo Borges as deal for final days of the transfer window.’
It now remains to be seen whether either side are willing to meet the potentially considerable demands of the powers that be at Porto.
