According to the Telegraph, Tottenham have Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher in their sights as Spurs are looking at midfield options to replace Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who has been targeted by Atletico Madrid and clubs in Germany.
Hojbjerg was the mainstay of Tottenham’s midfield last season and his departure would need a player to come in with the box-to-box energy of Gallagher.
Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino is said to be an admirer of Gallagher, and a move will come down to whether he is deemed a player who can be sold this summer.
In terms of a transfer fee, the Telegraph claim the Englishman could cost up to £50m.
Gallagher made 35 Premier League appearances last season but only six of those outings saw him complete 90 minutes.
The Blues have lost N’Golo Kante, Matteo Kovacic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek already this summer, so their central midfield area is looking a little light.
But after some questionable showings in the early stages of last season, it remains to be seen if Gallagher is the man to partner Enzo Fernandez at the heart of Chelsea’s midfield.
