Revealed: When Real Madrid are set to unveil new striker

A fresh insight into the ongoing pursuit of attacking reinforcements at La Liga giants Real Madrid has been provided on Thursday evening.

The subject of fresh blood up top has of course dominated the headlines in Spain’s capital over the course of the last week.

This comes after long-time Blancos frontman Karim Benzema opted against putting pen to paper on fresh terms, to instead take his talents to Saudi Arabia with Al-Ittihad.

With backup Mariano Diaz too in line to depart on a free transfer, a sizable hole, as a result, has been left in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.

To this point, a whole host of high-profile names have been tipped to fill the gap in Real’s frontline, the most notable coming in the form of Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappe.

If the latest word stemming from the Spanish media on Thursday is anything to go by, however, then an altogether more modest arrival will instead soon make his way through the doors at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The hitman in question? Joselu.

Set to be available for a cut-price fee on the back of Espanyol’s relegation, veteran attacker Joselu - fresh off a 17-goal season - is understood to be just an official announcement away from the Bernabeu.

In fact, according to Relevo, the Spanish international is in line to be unveiled as the latest addition to Carlo Ancelotti’s squad as soon as next Tuesday:
