Revealed: Sergej Milinković-Savić's stance over Manchester United transfer & the Red Devils’ opening offer

Manchester United are targeting Sergej Milinković-Savić as they look for a new midfielder.

Manchester United have been linked with some questionable targets over the last week, but there is nothing questionable about targeting a move for Sergej Milinković-Savić.

The Serbian has been a long-term target for the Red Devils who now look set to finally make their move to bring him to Old Trafford.

With a deal for Frenkie de Jong looking increasingly unlikely, United’s search for a new midfielder has turned to the 27-year-old.

Milinković-Savić's stance over Man Utd transfer

Sergej Milinković-Savić is open to joining Manchester United, according to Il Messaggero.

The Red Devils might be in luck as the midfielder’s contract situation could leave Lazio open to selling him.

Milinković-Savić's current deal runs until 2024 and he has informed the Italian club that he does not want to renew his contract.

He wants to play in the Champions League and compete for titles, but despite this, Old Trafford remains a destination of interest to him.

The door has been left even further open for United too, with PSG and Real Madrid having both signed new midfielders.

Erik ten Hag’s team have been looking to sign Adrien Rabiot from Juventus, however, they do not discount moving for both.

United prepare their opening offer

La Repubblica claim that United are ready to submit an opening offer of €68 million.

It is understood that Lazio value him at just short of that at €70 million.

But again, given his contract situation, the Biancocelesti may be forced to accept less than their asking price,
