Real Madrid ready to challenge Bayern Munich for Chelsea goalkeeper

A series of head-turning updates surrounding the future of Chelsea star Kepa Arrizabalaga have come to the fore online on Thursday evening.

This, of course, comes amid mounting claims that the Spaniard is in line for a Stamford Bridge departure.

After the powers that be at Stamford Bridge, last weekend, sanctioned a swoop for Brighton & Hove Albion standout Robert Sanchez, the widespread understanding was that Kepa and Sanchez were primed to battle it out for no.1 duties under the watch of Mauricio Pochettino this coming season.

However, with interest in Kepa’s services beginning to mount, Chelsea have come to the decision to alter their plans.

The Blues, it is understood, are now back in the market for fresh blood between the posts.

This comes, first, after confirmation was forthcoming that German heavyweights Bayern Munich have tabled a proposal for Kepa, based around an initial loan featuring an option to buy:

Real Madrid, too, are now keeping a close eye on Kepa’s situation, with a view to an upcoming bid.

For those who may have missed it, this comes after Los Blancos were rocked by news of star shot-stopper Thibaut Courtois being ruled out long-term, as a result of a training ground ACL rupture.

It now remains to be seen whom Kepa himself gives preference to.
