One in, one out: Tottenham readying one more splash on the transfer front

The Lilywhites’ productive summer window does not appear to have come to a close just yet

A fresh insight into the transfer plans of the powers that be at Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur has been provided on Sunday evening.

And the news points towards Antonio Conte and co. eyeing reinforcements in one more area of the pitch.

As per a report from The Athletic, Spurs are on the lookout for fresh blood in the attacking third.

This of course comes after the capital outfit were subjected to heavy criticism owing to the defensive nature of their latest display, en route to a 1-0 downing of Wolves on Saturday.

Even more central to the decision to seek out another forward, though, is the imminent departure of a current member of Conte’s ranks.

The player in question? Bryan Gil.

After spending the 2nd half of last season on loan in his home country of Spain with Valencia, it is understood that wide-man Gil is now close to putting pen to paper on permanent terms at the Mestalla.

This comes after Los Che standout Goncalo Guedes sealed a big-money move to the Premier League with Bruno Lage’s Wolves earlier this month.

Should Tottenham, as expected, now go on to strike a deal for another addition to the club’s first-team setup, it would mark the 8th such signing of the summer on the Lilywhite half of north London.

This comes after Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici sanctioned previous swoops for all of Richarlison, Yves Bissouma, Djed Spence, Destiny Udogie, Clement Lenglet, Ivan Perisic, and Fraser Forster.
