Official: Leeds seal deal for Tottenham defender

Championship outfit Leeds United have, on Thursday, confirmed a fresh addition to the club’s defensive ranks.

The latest player to have taken his talents to Elland Road with a view to the new season? Joe Rodon.

The name of stopper Rodon has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines in west Yorkshire over the course of the last week.

This comes after word was forthcoming that the powers that be at Leeds had identified the Welsh international as the ideal addition to Daniel Farke’s squad.

Rodon, for his part, is fresh off something of a hit-and-miss loan stint away from parent club Tottenham Hotspur, which saw the 25-year-old rack up 16 Ligue 1 appearances whilst on the books of Stade Rennais.

Not part of the plans of incoming Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou, though, the assumption had long been that Rodon would soon be on the move once more.

As per an official statement across the website and social media platforms of Leeds United:

‘Leeds United are delighted to announce the loan signing of central defender Joe Rodon.

‘The 25-year-old Wales international joins the Whites on a season-long deal, from Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur.’
