Spanish giants FC Barcelona have, on Saturday, confirmed that an agreement has been reached over the sale of a member of the club’s defensive setup.
The player primed to move on ahead of the 2022/23 campaign? Oscar Mingueza.
As per an official statement across the club’s website and social media platforms, stopper Mingueza, a product of the famed La Masia youth system, is set to take his talents to fellow La Liga outfit Celta Vigo:
‘FC Barcelona and Real Club Celta de Vigo have reached an agreement in principle for the transfer of Óscar Mingueza, pending a medical check and the signature of the corresponding contracts.’

The hope amongst the powers that be in the Catalan capital, of course, will be that Mingueza’s exit acts as something of a spark for the club to push through a series of sales over the course of the coming weeks.
Owing to the arrivals of the likes of Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski, Franck Kessie and Andreas Christensen, Barca’s wage bill is in desperate need of trimming with a view to the new season.
Juventus included Memphis Depay in the options for new striker alongside Morata and Timo Werner. No direct talks with Barça, Depay is available on the market – but it’s up to the player. ⚪️🇳🇱 #transfers
No talks between Tottenham and Memphis as things stand, despite rumours.
