New Chelsea signing reveals Sadio Mane advice

A new Chelsea signing has received advice from Sadio Mane.

Chelsea signed Senegal forward Nicolas Jackson on an eight-year contract from Villarreal, with the transfer made official on Friday.

The 22-year-old scored 13 goals in 38 appearances for the La Liga side last season, including nine in the final eight league games. He is the Blues’ second summer signing after the £52m deal for France striker Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig.

The two clubs did not disclose the fee involved but it has been widely reported that Chelsea will pay £32m for Jackson, which works out at very little if the fee is spread over his eight-year deal.

Now, ahead of beginning his Premier League career, Jackson has revealed the advice he was given from Sadio Mane, who worked under Mauricio Pochettino when the pair were at Southampton.

Jackson said: “I spoke to Sadio Mane about him [Pochettino] and he spoke very highly of him, he said amazing things about him. Sadio told me the manager is going to help me a lot to improve and do well if I listen to what he has to tell me, so that is exactly what I’m going to do.”
