Reports suggest Brighton will demand a fee of Β£75 million to green-light a deal for Caicedo.
All of Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea have been linked with a move for the South American in recent months.
However, Fabrizio Romano reported at the end of June that Chelsea were set to open talks with Brighton for Caicedo, with negotiations between the two clubs believed to have now started.
Now, the player himself has been quizzed on Chelseaβs interest and did not hold back in his praise for the club:
βItβs a big team, thatβs true.Β A very historicΒ team and IΒ canβt say No, because itβs a very big, historic, beautiful team. The city as well is beautiful. Itβs got everything beautiful.β
Caicedo was also quick to acknowledge Brighton fans, speaking of how well theyβve treated him and his family from day one, he said: βThe affection of the fans, the affection that all of us players have mutually. Itβs like a family.
