Mikel Arteta spoke to Spanish outlet Marca recently and was quizzed on a number of topics.
First up, the Spaniard was asked about Arsenal’s 2023 summer transfer budget. He did not provide much in the way of details, but had this to say:
“We already made a refresh of the squad. We’re now together with owners to build a winning team that could be sustainable for long term. We need important players and we’ll attack the market to sign those who we need”, he told Marca.
Two of the players being targeted by Arsenal this summer are Declan Rice and Kai Havertz. And, of course, Arteta was asked about the duo in his interview.
He was quick to praise Havertz, but stopped short of revealing any details regarding a transfer:
“Sorry but I can’t speak about players who’re not at the club. I prefer not to comment,” he stated.
And finally, the Arsenal boss was asked about being linked with the PSG job and had this to say:
“I can only say that I’m happy at Arsenal. I feel loved and also appreciated by the owners. I’ve lot of things to do for this club. I’m very happy and really, but trust me incredibly grateful for being Arsenal’s manager.”
